The most visible aspect of the Ashtanga Yoga system are the various positions taken. Of greater importance, however, is less obvious content, more hidden. It consists of three fundamental techniques which connect together items such as some beads on a string or a garland of flowers.
The system was structured so that it works as a dynamic meditation, where transitions between jobs are just as important as the posts in
itself.
Three techniques are: Ujjayi Pranayama, Mula Bandha and Uddiyana Bandha.
